Darren Cecil Obituary

Darren Cecil, 58

1964 - 2022

San Diego, Ca - Darren R. Cecil, passed away on Easter Sunday at the age of 58 after a ten-month battle with a brain tumor. Darren is the father of Tinsley, Christian, and Darren Michael Cecil and grandfather of Maverick and Ozzy. Darren was the youngest son of Ellen and James Cecil and is survived by his older sister Dorene and brother David.

Darren lived a well-rounded life. He loved sports, was a huge Boston fan, and participated in football, basketball, and baseball. He loved music, especially from the 80's. He had a simple faith and never questioned that God created him and looked forward to heaven. He loved his family and prospered as a business owner. He worked with some of the largest firms worldwide including names like Toyota with a career highlight training thousands of Superbowl volunteers. His final contracts involved training sales teams all over the world, including Asia, Europe, and South America. His good humor and storytelling made every day fun.

Perhaps Darren's greatest impact was encouraging individuals. He counseled and advised and trained until people's lives were changed. Most people who knew him would say that he just made them better. Darren will be deeply missed.

Service Information: A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 23 at 1 pm at Darren's home 3825 Baker Street San Diego, CA 92117 followed by a Padres baseball game.

I didn't know Darren well, but we overlapped in college a couple of years. I do remember him being a really nice guy. Sorry to hear about this.
