PEABODY - David M. Gabriel, MD, 63, beloved husband of Eloise (Mello) Gabriel, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 while in New York City for business.Born in Boston, he was the son of the late David F. and Mary (Sullivan) Gabriel. He lived most of his life in Peabody. He graduated from Bishop Fenwick High School, Class of 1968. He then attended St. Anselm's College in New Hampshire before attending the University of Bordeaux Medical School in France.Dr. Gabriel completed his Internship and his Residency in Anesthesiology with University Hospital and Boston City Hospital, now known as BostonMedical Center Hospital. He retired from his medical practice eight years ago in 2005.Passionate about helping others, he showed people how they could live a better life by creating extra income. He expressed his skills as an Entrepreneur, by simply showing fellow medical professionals and health-minded people about his Health and Wellness business, a part of the family of MarketAmerica and Shop.com, a dynamic and leading edge product brokerage and internet marketing business.Dave was active in the community, serving on the Board of Trustees with Bishop Fenwick High School, was a member of the Mass Medical Society, and enjoyed season tickets to the North Shore Music Theater. He was faithfully devoted to his church, St. Thomas the Apostle on the Peabody/Salem line where he served as Co-Chair of the Parish Council, and was active in numerous ways to help make a good, prayerful environment in the church. Besides those activities, he derived his most satisfying moments travelling, expressing his joy and love of life gathering with family and friends. He will be remembered for his easy going smile, his welcoming attitude, and for always saying a good word, leaving people feeling better about themselves after talking with him. He will be dearly missed by all he touched.Surviving him are his wife, Eloise (Mello) Gabriel of Peabody, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage; three daughters, Terri Gabriel of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Becky Gabriel of Long Island, N.Y., and Pammy Gabriel of Peabody; a son, David Gabriel of Peabody; a sister, Kathy and her husband Mark DeLomba of Danvers; two brothers, Jim Gabriel of Peabody and Dan Gabriel of California, and an aunt, many nieces, nephews and cousins.Service information: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for his funeral Mass of Christian burial on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1 Margin St. (Route 114) Peabody. Dave was a very kind and genuine person who loved life and his Family very much. He had a wonderful smile which he was always willing to share with everyone all the time. He was always willing to help everyone and was a great mentor and role model to every person lucky enough to have known him. Though we are sad at his passing and will truly miss him, our lives are so much better off for having known him and shared time with him. His reward is great for a life so well lived!
