U.S. Air Force vet, Salem power plant employeeLYNN-Mr. Edward E. Vick, Sr., age 76, of Lynn, died Monday in a local nursing home following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Loretta J. (Sims) Vick, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage.Born in Malden, he was the son of the late Clinton W. and Willie Mae (Boardman) Vick. He was a graduate of Malden High School and was a resident of Lynn for most of his life, previously residing in Malden. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.He was employed for the New England Power Plant in Salem for many years.Edward was a beach comber and loved walking the beach. He enjoyed Billiards and watching old Western movies. He was a member of the NACCP and was an equipment manager for the Jeannette's Drum and Bugle Corps.In addition to his wife, he leaves five sons, Edward E. Vick, Jr. of Salem, Timothy W. Vick of Lynn, Walter J. Vick of Marblehead, Michael A. Vick of Lynn, and Gregory J. Vick of Lynn; one daughter, Darlene M. Williams and her husband Craig of Nashville, TN; three sisters, Shirley Rogers of Malden, Ruth Sneed of Melrose, and Frances Vick of Malden. He was the Grandfather of Michael A. Vick, Jr., Anastasia Vick, Michaela Vick, and Jarett Williams. He was the Great-Grandfather of Joshua and Madison Vick and also leaves several nieces and nephews.Service Information: Family & Friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple St. LYNN on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
