Frank was the husband of my first cousin Jane Bates of Swampscott. I remember him as an easy- going, easy-talking guy ten years my senior. I lived in Lynn but spent years working and hanging in Swampscott where my paternal grandmother lived on Andrew Road. Jane´s brother Carl was a best friend during my early years. I learned a lot about "the better life" in Swampscott, which inspired me to finally go to college and move into the world, which I´ve traveled from end to end on business and pleasure. Where I lived in Lynn was different, rougher and tougher. I´m glad I knew Frank (first salesman I ever met) and several of his family. May he rest as easy in death as his easy golf swing in life.

Dear Carol and the entire Vernava family.
We were saddened to hear of Frank's passing. He fought a long and courageous battle. Rose and I were thrilled to discover that we shared our retirement neighborhood with Frank and Carol. We felt privileged to offer our assistance to them while we lived around the corner. I met Frank over 55 years ago. He made a lasting impression on me then, and will be counted as a true friend forever in my heart, and Rose's as well.
Our most sincere condolences,
Joe and Rose Dilk
