James Gately Obituary
1960 - 2025
Lynn - James J. "Jimmy" Gately passed away suddenly on Friday May 30th.
Son of the late Harold J. and Theresa (Deveau) Gately. A lifelong Lynner Jim retired as a plumber for the Lynn Housing Authority, a position he held for 30 years. He graduated from Lynn Tech in 1978 and continued his education to obtain his plumbers license and was a member of the local Plumbers Union for 35 years.
Jimmy was a man of great strength and character which showed in his determination when diagnosed with Parkinsons disease 15 years ago and continued on despite his illness and truly showed in his unwavering compassion and devotion to his mother after his father's passing.
He was a Past President and member of the Lynn A.O.H. Division 10, he served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Lynn Photographic Association and was a member of The Michael J. Fox Foundation and MA Cam Nats.
Jim is survived by his brothers Dennis and his wife Jacalyn, Anthony "Tony" and his wife Susan, Thomas and his wife Buffy and Daniel. His sister Mary Gately-Hemeon.
Several nephews and a niece and grandnephews and grandnieces.

Service Information: Visitation will be held at Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody, MA.
On Wednesday June 4, 2025, from 4PM to 8PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius V church, 215 Maple St. Lynn on Thursday June 5, 2025, at 11AM. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lynn.
