Swampscott - Joan D. (Fountain) Dandreo, 85, of Swampscott, passed peacefully on Thursday July 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Lynn, Joan was a graduate of St. Mary's High School class of 1956, was a communicant of Holy Family Church, and has lived in Swampscott for the past 66 years. She was the beloved wife of 47 years to the late Daniel Dandreo Jr.
Joan worked as a hairdresser for many years and also owned Dependable Limo in Swampscott. She loved to travel, especially to Aruba and Las Vegas. She was also very active with Swampscott Youth Hockey. Most importantly, Joan enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an amazing cook and loved entertaining for countless family parties, holidays and started many family traditions.
She is survived by her 6 children; Daniel Dandreo III and his wife Julie, William Dandreo and his wife Elizabeth, Michael Dandreo, Richard Dandreo and his wife Kellie, Robert Dandreo and his wife Lauren, Jennifer Planz and her husband Curt, 15 grandchildren; Donato Dandreo IV and his wife Natasha, Gina Dandreo, Garrett Dandreo and his wife Mallory, Angela Holliday and her husband Justin, Roger Dandreo and his wife Brittany, Joyce Sanderson and her husband Todd, Alyssa Dandreo, Christopher Dandreo, Steven Dandreo, Lara Dandreo, Elaina Dandreo, Vincent Planz and his wife Emily, Carla Planz and her husband Eugenio Gonzalez, Joseph Planz, Michael Planz, and her honorary grandson Daniel Facci, 12 great grandchildren; Donato V, Cameron, Archer, Nora, Billy, Saverio, Valentina, Peter, John, Paul, Leonardo, Isabel, her siblings; Kathleen Walkey, Annie Lopez, Joseph Fountain and his wife Cindy, Madeline Chouinard, John Fountain and his wife Pamela, sister-in-law Judith Fountain, brother in law Vincent Dandreo and wife Peggy, sister in law Maryann Clemens, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by her husband Daniel, her brother James Fountain, and brothers-in-law George Walkey, Conrad Chouinard, Emanuel Dandreo and wife Janet, Joseph Dandreo and wife Bette, and Ralph Clemens.
Service Information: Visitation for Joan will be held on Monday July 22, 2024 from 4-8PM at SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME 67 Ocean St. (Rt1A) Lynn. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 23 at 9AM at the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 10AM at Holy Family Church Lynn, with burial at Swampscott Cemetery.
