Joan "Joanne" P. Demakis, 86
1938 - 2024
Lynn - Joan "Joanne" P. Demakis, age 86, of Lynn, passed away following a brief illness on Friday, April 5, 2024. Joanne was born on March 30, 1938 to the late Peter and Anastasia "Tessie" (Zetes) Demakis, and she was the dear sister of the late Timothy P. Demakis, beloved cousin and aunt of the Demakis/Demakes and Zetes families and she was a proud and loving godmother.
Joanne was a life-long resident of Lynn as well as a life-long member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church. She graduated from Lynn English High School with the Class of 1956 and continued her studies at the Chandler School for Women in Boston from which she graduated with the Class of 1958. She retired after over twenty years of service at HCPro where she was well-liked and respected.
She was an avid traveler and traveled extensively. She enjoyed seeing new countries but her favorite destination was always Greece, especially the village of Logganikos, high in the mountains of the Peloponnese where the Demakis family is from.
Joanne will be deeply missed for her devotion to her family and friends, for her sense of humor and ready laugh, and for always remembering everyone's birthday.
Service Information: Per the request of Joanne's family, a private service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery.
