Joseph M. Bertorelli, 93

1928 - 2021

Nahant - Joseph M. Bertorelli, age 93, of Nahant, Massachusetts, died peacefully on July 14, 2021 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Anne C. (O'Neill) Bertorelli. He was also the companion of the late Therese Hobbs.

He is survived by his five sons; Joseph Bertorelli of Nahant, John Bertorelli of Biloxi, MS, James Bertorelli and his wife Maria of Malden, MA, Paul Bertorelli of Nahant and Christopher Bertorelli and his wife Teresa of Coronado, CA and his 3 grandchildren Joseph, Marissa and Christina. He is also survived by his brother Atiglio (Till) Bertorelli of Saugus MA.

Born in Saugus, he was the son of the late Celestino and Columba (Gandolfini) Bertorelli. He was raised and educated in Saugus and a graduate of Saugus High School Class of 1946.

He lived in Nahant since 1962.

Joseph enlisted in the United States Army upon graduation from high school where he served his country with distinction in post-war Japan. He would later acquire skills as a design engineer working at companies throughout the greater Boston area including; General Electric, ITEK, Polaroid, Stone & Webster and Honeywell where he retired at the age of 67.

In his retirement he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends.

Service Information: A funeral mass will be held on Saturday July 24, 2021 at 10AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Nahant. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private at a later date.
