Karen DeCotis

DANVERS - Ms. Karen DeCotis, 57, of Danvers, died Aug. 3, 2015 at the Hunt Rehabilitation Home following an extended illness.Born in Saugus, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Claire (Murpohy) Decotis. She was raised and educated in Saugus and was a graduate of Nazareth Academy Girls Parochial School in Melrose.Karen was an outgoing, kind and loving woman. She volunteered much of her time to many worthwhile charities on the North Shore. She was generous with her time and finances and was always eager to please and help others in their time of need.She was a loving sister and cousin who had a passion for music and theatre. Her vivacious and outgoing personality endeared her to many, and she made a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Her spirit lives on in all of her family and friends for eternity.Karen is survived by her loving sister, Ellyn Phelps and her husband Gregory of North Hampton, N.H., her maternal uncle, James Baldasare and his wife Katherine of Peabody, many loving cousins, including Lisa Christie and her family of New York and Keri Beldekas and her family of Wilmington, and all of her friends at the Hunt Rehabilitation Center in Danvers.Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service, which will be held graveside in the Annunciation Cemetery, Hobart Street, Danvers, Friday, Aug. 7 at 1 p.m. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the PETERSON-O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 167 Maple St. (Route 62), Danvers.
