Kenneth L. Peterson, 84

1937 - 2021

Lynn - Kenneth L. Peterson, 84, of Lynn, passed away on Saturday December 18, 2021.

Kenneth was born in Lynn to the late Roy and Frances (Crowley) Peterson. He was of Swedish and Irish descent. He was a lifelong Lynn resident, graduating from Lynn Classical High School and later attended Northeastern University.

Kenneth served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, and he also had a long and successful career as a Service Technician for Pitney Bowes Inc.

Kenneth enjoyed outdoor recreation: hunting, fishing, camping and boating. He traveled both domestically and internationally and enjoyed many cruises with his wife, Karen. In earlier years, he reveled in downhill skiing and snowmobiling. In his back yard, he was fond of feeding the birds and tending to his summer vegetable garden.

He was a member of the Lynn Volunteer Yacht Club and the Elks Club of Saugus – Everett, MA #0642.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Karen of Lynn, his daughters; Susan Nyberg of Hampton, NH, Linda Hickman and her husband Robert of South Chatham, MA, Kristen Carpentier and her husband Stephen of Pittsford, VT, his stepchildren: Kelly Reardon Burnham of Lynn, Kevin Reardon of Lynn, and Kristen Reardon of Lynn, his brother Roy Peterson and his wife Phyllis of Danvers, MA, and sister Joan Peterson of Lynn, his 19 grandchildren including: Christopher, Brian, Kevin, Joshua, Matthew, Hannah, Jeff, and Lydia Carpentier, and his 28 great grandchildren including: Sophia, Nikolai, Kimberly, Scott and Eleanor. He also left behind many nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, his brother John Peterson, his granddaughter Jacqueline Fazio, his niece, Greta Baker, his cousin Mary Couturier and his sister Barbara Mossman.

Service Information: Kenneth will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a kind soul and always willing to help others. Kenneth's memorial service will be held on Saturday January 8, 2022 at 4PM at SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt 129) Lynn. Memorial visitation will be prior to the service from 1-4 pm.
