Marietta Jezowski Obituary

DANVERS -- Marietta (Messina) Jezowski, 84, passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Esther (Corbagli) and Santo (Sam) Messina.Marietta was a lifelong resident of Lynn. She graduated from Lynn Classical, worked as a secretary at General Electric, and after raising her family, worked at Supreme Bakery in Lynn.Marietta was a devout catholic who devoted her time to the church. She was a former communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality. She was also a former communicant of St. Michael's Parish and then St. Mary's Parish of Lynn. She met and married Teddy on Sept. 1, 1956 and settled in Lynn where they raised their six children.She loved playing cards, kitty whist, UNO and belonged to a weekly bowling league. She enjoyed meeting her friends several times a week for coffee at Honeydew. She also loved the beach and watching the sunset. Family was everything to Marietta, planning get togethers, Sunday dinners and spoiling her grandchildren.For the past seven years, she lived at Sunrise Assisted Living in Lynnfield. She participated in many activities, games, bingo, crafts, excursions around the North Shore and attended church at Our Lady of Assumption.She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore ("Teddy"?) Jezowski with whom she shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. She is survived by her six children and their spouses, Paul and his wife Roann of San Carlos, Calif., Mark and Lori Wilson of Merrimac, Judy Strauss and her husband Frank of Hull, John and his wife Stacy Moore of Byfield, Ann of Middleton, and Mary Cassidy and her husband Kevin of Beverly. She was the devoted "nannie"? of Nicole and Justin Strauss, Maddy and Shane Cassidy and Grace and Chen Jezowski. She was the loving sister of Joseph and his wife, Marjorie of Lynn, Cathy of Melbourne, Florida and the late Roseann Messina. She was also the niece of Josephine (Dolly) Pasquale of Lynn and the late Rose Corbagli, and the granddaughter of the late Anna and Luigi Corbagli. Service information: Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Solimine Funeral Home 426 Broadway (RTE129), Lynn followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimer's Association or the Kaplan Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
