Pauline M. Langlais

AUBURN, Maine - Pauline M. Langlais, 82, of Sumner, died late Monday morning, July 27, 2015 at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn.She was born on Jan. 21, 1933 in Lynn, a daughter of James and Laura (Powers) Flynn. She attended parochial school, graduating from St. Mary's in Lynn. On Aug. 27, 1955, she married Felix Langlais in Lynn, where they made their home and she worked tirelessly as a loving homemaker to her family. Pauline and Felix retired to the Oxford Hills in 1994 living for some time in South Paris before settling in Sumner.She was a longtime communicant of St. Catherine of Siena in Norway and enjoyed the fellowship of others at church. Pauline loved being in the outdoors and her greatest outdoor recreational activity was snowmobiling which she did with her husband often over the years. She also enjoyed the company of her family, especially her grandchildren, and hiking with friends when she was able.She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Felix of Sumner; five children, Helena Hetmon and her husband Glenn of Derry, N.H., Joey Langlais of South Paris, Tommy Langlais and his wife Donna of Lynn, Jeannine Gentleman and her husband Joe of Peabody and Mary Garuti and her wife Mary Beth Simpkins of Otisfield; four grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Flynn of the Philippines and Gene Flynn of Derry, N.H.; a sister, Lorraine Cameron of Londonderry, N.H. She was predeceased by four siblings.Service information: Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation, 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2 at the CHANDLER Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3 at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, 32 Paris St., Norway. Interment will be at the Elmwood Cemetery in Sumner.
