Scott Noonan Obituary

Scott Edward Noonan died suddenly at the age of 63 awaiting a heart transplant to treat an ongoing heart condition.  He was a devoted husband to Jane Cassidy Noonan for 38 years, and a loving father to Briana Noonan, Patrick Noonan, his wife Rachel, Cassidy deBettencourt, and her husband William. Scott (Papa) was adored by his granddaughter, Nora Ruth Noonan. He was born in Winchester on Aug. 10, 1955, and was the son of the late Patricia (Connelly) Noonan and Edward Noonan. Scott is survived by his brother, Mark Noonan and his wife Patricia and was predeceased by his brother Edward (Ted) Noonan. In addition, Scott is survived by his aunt, Helen Reilly; and several cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved with all his heart. Scott graduated from Kimball Union Academy, Class of 1974 and then Merrimack College, Class of 1978, and played goalie for their hockey teams. He achieved 33 years of safe driving while working for UPS. At Tedesco Country Club he worked for 33 years sharing his friendly demeanor with the staff and members alike. He volunteered at Mass. General Hospital helping direct patients at the hospital and sharing his contagious smile. Scott was passionate, loyal and loved. All of those who knew him are incredibly grateful for his presence in their life. He left a lasting impact that will never be forgotten. Service information: Visiting hours will be at St. John the Evangelist Church, 174 Humphrey St., Swampscott, on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 9 a.m. with a memorial Mass immediately following at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There will be a private burial at Forest Glen Cemetery in Reading. In Scott's memory, please consider a donation to support the Mass.
