Timothy Twomey

1944 - 2022

Marblehead - Timothy Twomey, 77, of Marblehead, passed away unexpectedly on January 11 after a brief illness. He leaves his wife, Karen (Costin) of 29 years. He leaves his children Timothy and his wife Kathleen, of Falmouth; Jennifer Rue and her husband, Mitch, of Louisville, KY and Meghan Harrell of Marblehead. Grandchildren include Timothy Joseph, Christopher & Jake Twomey and William & Jackson Rue.

Timmy was the son of the late William and Catherine (Hyde) of Lynn. Siblings include William and his wife Jan, of Peabody and Rita Twomey of Lynn. He was predeceased by his sisters, Margaret Ryan & Claire Campus. He also leaves his favorite sister-in-law, Julie O'Shea and her husband Michaell of West Peabody, James Costin of Lynn and Dick Costin, Jr. of Saugus.

A standout athlete at St. Mary's in hockey & baseball, he continued his studies @ the University of Vermont and Salem State College. He was a teacher in the Lynn Public Schools for over 35 years, having worked at Pickering Jr. High, Lynn Classical High and retired from Breed Middle School. He was a former building rep for the Lynn Teachers Union. He was a former member of Gannon Golf Course, the Dolphin Yacht Club, Hyannis Yacht Club, and a card carrying member of the North Naples Country Club.

He enjoyed his retirement in Naples, FL where he wintered. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and fellow revelers who enjoyed a good time.

Service Information: Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 17th from 4PM to 8PM in St. Mary's Church, 8 South Common Street, Lynn. His funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary's Church on Tuesday, January 18th at 10AM, followed by burial in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. All are required to wear masks. Donations may be made in his memory to St. Mary's Athletic Department, 35 Tremont St, Lynn, MA 01902.
