Antonio "Tony" Torres May 6, 1942 - December 23, 2022 Antonio Torres, 80, of Pomona, CA, passed away on December 23, 2022. On Friday, December 23, 2022 we suddenly lost the most important man in all our lives. The man that exemplified the most rare and absolute unconditional love for everyone. Antonio was born on May 6, 1942 to Rodrigo and Eleadora Torres in Pomona, CA. After graduating from Ganesha High School, he went on to complete some college as well as his first job as a prison guard at Chino Men's prison. In 1973, he went on to work at City of Pomona Public Works where he retired in 2001 as a Public Works Supervisor. In 1966, he met Martha, and they wed on December 3, 1966, going on to have two daughters, Lisa and Andrea. "Tony" as he was most lovingly known, was a kind, gentle soul determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He enjoyed reading, traveling, getting early morning coffee, and talking with others. He was endlessly proud of his daughters and his three grandchildren Alyssa Raylene, Alex Antonio, and Angelina Cristine. Anyone who knew Tony adored him and knew that he was the most loving father, brother, uncle and friend a family could ask for. His heart was so full of love and in the last hours of his life he heard "I love you Dad" and received kisses from his daughters Lisa and Andrea. He will live in our hearts forever. Tony was predeceased by his father Rodrigo, mother Eleodora, sisters Jennie and Pauline and brothers Alejandro, Daniel, Joe, John and Frank. He is survived by his daughters Lisa and Andrea, grandchildren Alyssa, Alex Antonio, and Angelina, brother David and sisters Juanita and Mary Ellen. His memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Todd's Memorial Chapel in Pomona, and followed by a celebration of life at Martha's house.
