Barbara Coulson Obituary

07/30/1929 - 11/27/2021 Barbara Close Coulson, 92, of Rialto, CA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on 11/27/21. She was predeceased by her husband, Joshua Coulson, her parents and brother. Barbara was born in Muskegon, MI and moved to Towson, MD as a young girl. She received her bachelors degree in education from the University of Maryland. After obtaining her degree, she traveled to Japan and then Germany to teach at the American Dependent Schools. She met her husband in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Barbara and Joshua moved to Rialto after completing their tours. After relocating to Rialto, Barbara taught English at Kolb Middle School for many years. While there, she earned her Masters in Education from Pepperdine University. Barbara was a devout Catholic and attended St. John XXIII Church. She was also a member of the Morning Glories bible study group associated with the church. Barbara and Josh loved to travel and camp, which they did extensively. Barbara also enjoyed doing crafts and gardening. She is survived by her sister, Connie Close, son Matthew Coulson (Lisa), daughter Kathy Coulson (Andy), grandchildren Hayley (Mark), Joshua (Sofia), Robert and Matthew (Chloe) as well as one great grandson. Mass will be held at St. John XXIII, 222 E. Easton St., Rialto, CA on March 24, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518. Lisa Coulson 909-229-8710
