Bryan Shaw Obituary

Bryan John Shaw
Bryan was one of six children born to John & Madeline Shaw of Claremont, Ca. on Oct 18, 1949. Bryan, lovingly referred to by many as BShaw, went to the Lord Oct 18, 2017 after a 3 year battle with cancer. He died peacefully at his home in Rancho Cucamonga while surrounded by his wife, children, and in-laws Sheila and Tom Mitchell. Although his love of sports led him to coach high school and college football early in his career, Bryan was an educator at heart. He spent 40 years teaching kids, guiding teachers and mentoring administrators in Glendora, Rim of the World, and Charter Oak school districts. Bryan is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sharon McCarthy Shaw, sons Matt and Brett (wife Shelly and grandson Owen) and daughter Courtney. Bryan is also survived by brothers Dennis, Jerry, and Ed and sisters Regina Bailey and Andrea Moore. He will also be missed by his very large extended family of in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Bryan defined his priorities early in life, that of Faith, Family and Friends and held true to these priorities his entire life. Bryan was an example to all with his servant's heart, positive attitude and gentle spirit. We are all thankful to know he will hear these words from his Lord and Savior, "Well done good and faithful servant." Services will be held at St. Anthony's church in Upland on Saturday Oct. 28 at 1:00pm. Reception to follow at Upland Hills Country Club, Upland, CA. In lieu of flowers consider bringing a childrens book to be donated to local childrens hospitals.

Played high school football (Bonita High) against Bryan and Dennis and still recall both of them bursting through our line and crashing into our linebacker and me. 50 years later i still have visions of Bryan's smiles through his mouth piece and still feel the shoulder pains he caused. We never talked, except through our eyes showing a mutual respect for one another.

To Bryan's Family:
Bryan is fondly remembered by all of the staff, teachers, and students who had the pleasure to work with him in the Rim of the World School District. He was a big part of our Rim family for many wonderful years, and all who knew him admired, respected, and loved him. Condolences to all of Bryan's family. He will be truly missed.
