Conor Emerson Vislay

Conor Emerson Vislay passed away early Saturday morning August 26, 2023. Conor was born on January 29, 1993 and lived most of his 30 years of life in La Verne and the southern California area. He is the beloved son of Tim and Alice Vislay, the brother of Ryan Vislay and brother-in-law of Monique Ramos Vislay and the loving uncle of Jack and Elliott Vislay.Conor was full of life, attacking everything he did with joy and passion. One of his passions was baseball, he loved playing and coaching the game for most of his thirty years. He played throughout high school and into college. He eventually took on coaching positions with the East LA Dodgers and Cal State LA, where he was the infielders and first base coach. He knew the game inside and out and loved talking baseball.Conor was also an avid skateboarder. Starting at about the age of four he was always throwing himself down a set of stairs, tearing up the La Verne Skatepark, or skating one of the many skate spots around Southern California.Conor had a smile that radiated kindness and acceptance. A soul that was inclusive and nonjudgmental. A body that moved with athletic fluidity. A mind that was forever curious and open. A boy that was an old soul wise beyond his years, but took a wrong turn. After a 12-year struggle with opioid addiction, he is at peace.A memorial service will be at his parents' house on September 23, 2023. Contact the family for details.
