David Kenneth "Dave" Wicks

1949 - 2021

David Kenneth (Dave) Wicks David Kenneth (Dave) Wicks, formerly of Ontario and San Clemente, CA, passed away on October 14, 2021 from complications of the Covid-19 virus. Dave was born in Aurora, IL on March 29, 1949 to the late Robert K. and Ruth H. (Raber) Wicks. He spent his childhood with his parents and sister, Sharon L. (Sherry) in York, PA. He moved with his family to La Habra, CA in 1965. He graduated from La Habra High School in 1967. He attended Aurora College in Aurora, IL where he met Selma Harris; they were married on December 18, 1971. He found work at a manufacturing plant in Downey, CA, where a dream was born to be self-employed. He later founded and proudly operated his own seal and gasket stamping companies. Dave and Selma had two daughters, Rebecca and Kimberly. The family lived in Ontario until 1991, when they moved to San Clemente. After the girls grew up and left home, Dave and Selma moved to their cabin retreat in Big Bear until 2006, when they moved to Casa Grande, AZ. Dave had a lifelong love of Corvettes and he and Selma went on many road trips together in his different 'Vettes. He is survived by his wife, daughters, sister, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, step-family members Ruth, Robert, and Lori, and beloved dog Gizmo. Services will be held at Todd Memorial Chapel, 570 North Garey Avenue, Pomona, CA on Monday, November 1 at 10am. He will be laid to rest immediately following at Oak Park Cemetery in Claremont. A Celebration of Life will be held in Casa Grande, AZ, on December 18 to commemorate his and Selma's 50th wedding anniversary.
