Grace Yokley

1925 - 2022

Mrs. Grace Yokley passed away peacefully at her home in Beaumont, California on November 25, 2022. She was born in Eudora, Missouri on December 4, 1925, she was 96 years old. She was a long time resident of Ontario, CA following WWII in 1946. Grace has lived part time in Beaumont, CA since 2003. Mrs. Yokley worked for Mountain View School District as the district secretary to the superintendent. After retirement in 1985, she continued serving the district as an elected official, member of the board of trustees until 1993. During her tenure as secretary, the board of trustees elected to name the district's second school, Grace Yokley School, which was dedicated on September 11, 1982. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Pauline (McCully) Thompson, her husband, Lloyd L Yokley, her son, Ronald L Yokley, and brothers Allen Leon and Ray Dean Thompson. She is survived by her daughter, Dianna L (Ken) Godfrey, daughter-in-law Loida Yokley, grandchildren: Robert Yokley, Karen (Jeff) Downs, Andrea (Alan) Jessup, Andrew (Sasha Guiab) Godfrey, Susan Godfrey, and Katie (Jacco) Bot, as well as great-grandchildren: Jared (Alexis) Rodgers, Stephen (Sarah) Downs, James Downs, Nora Downs, Julia Bot, and Lucas Bot, Adam Jessup and Aidan Yokley, and two sisters Hannah Mae Vest, and Linnie Lou McGowan. Mrs. Yokley also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at Fellowship Church, 650 Oak Valley Parkway, Beaumont, CA on Dec. 16th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Bellevue Memorial Park located at 1240 West G Street, Ontario, CA.
