ARTHUR NAVARRO

1954 - 2018

Arthur Navarro, 64, of Calexico passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 by surrounded by his love and his family. He was born January 3, 1954 in Calexico, CA. Arthur graduated from Calexico High School in 1972. He was an all star athlete. Wrestling is where he excelled. He was awarded the Bronze Card because of his athletic achievements. In 1974, he became a firefighter for the Calexico Fire Department. With the support of Chief Pedroza, he attended and graduated from the second paramedic program offered at UCSD. He married Katherine Kennedy in July 1976. They remained married for 18 years and had 3 beautiful children, Jennifer, Belinda and AJ. In addition to working at the fire department, he also worked part time for Gold Cross Ambulance and taught fire science at Calexico High School. He retired as Captain at the Calexico Fire Department in 2012. After retirement, he took it easy, loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching the Minnesota Vikings. He was preceded in death by his father, George Navarro; mother, Romualda Lopez Navarro; brother, Jorge Terrazas and sister, Martha Navarro Harrell. Arthur is survived by his daughters, Jennifer and Frank Miranda of Holtville, Belinda Navarro and Michael Weller of San Diego; son, Arthur and Danitza Navarro of La Mesa; ex-wife, Katherine Kennedy; goddaughter, Melissa Harrell of San Diego; nephew, Steven and Diana Harrell of National City and 7 grandchildren total. Rosary will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Calexico with service at 11 a.m.
