CIPRIANO POZOS Obituary

CIPRIANO POZOS REYES

Sept. 21, 1956 Sept. 27, 2023

Cipriano Pozos passed away in Los Angeles of coronary heart failure. Cipriano was born in Tepatlitlan de Morelos in Jalisco, Mexico. He was raised in Calexico, CA, where he attended Jefferson Elementary and Calexico High School.

Cipriano was a self-taught artist, emerging with his unique style. He participated in many art shows in San Diego and the Imperial Valley. His work has been sought, collected, and recognized by many as uninfluenced and unique.

Cipriano lived on the edge, and his freedom was valuable. A free-spirited man who was full of gratefulness. He was inspirational and believed in the will of God. Throughout his lifetime, he created countless works of art that will live on and inspire others. The family will miss his charm, humor, and his gentle smile.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Monica Pozos, passed away at the age of 3 in 1980. He is now with his little angel. His mother, Consuelo Reyes; father, Librado Pozos; sister, Consuelo Pozos Rivas; and brothers, Luis Pozos and Miguel Pozos. He is survived by his brother, Roberto Pozos; his love, Lourdes Perez; children, Raul Pozos; grandchildren, Julian, Monica, and Diego; MaryLou Pozos Campos; grandchildren, KayaRae and Maliya, and JonErik Pozos; grandchildren, Aiyana and Valerie; and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on October 18, 2023, from 5 to 9pm at California Burial Chapel in National City, CA. Burial will be on October 19, 2023, at 11am at Glenn Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, CA.

He was my father in law. In all the 19 years I knew him, I have only seen the best in him. he was a loving, kind man. He loved his family, and was a wonderful Grandfather. He would always paint with our daughters, and show them painting tips. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone, and I was privileged to know him for so long. It pains me to have to say goodbye so soon to a talented man who was so loved and had so much more to give. My family will also miss him as they enjoyed his company when he would come to family gatherings. I'll miss you, suegro.
