CRAWFORD EARL BAKER

Crawford Earl Baker, 70, of Imperial passed away of lung and throat cancer on January 20, Veterans Hospital in La Jolla.
Crawford was born October 30, 1935 in Gatesville, TX. He was drafted into the Army in 1958 serving in the guided missile program and electronics field in Germany.
Crawford owned and operated Baker's Maintenance in Imperial from 1972 until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed his retirement by performing maintenace and repair at his leisure. Crawford purchased 9 acres in Sonoita, AZ where he had hoped to build a retirement home. He planted an orchard and installed spinklers during his summer trips avoiding the Valley's heat.
Crawford dedicated his life to helping the elderly and less fortunate.
A Celebration of life will be officiated by family and friends Saturday, February 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Moose Lodge 2310 Myrtle Rd. .
Crawford was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Baker-Reynolds and father, Crawford Orie Baker.
Crawford is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Volita Baker of Imperial; sister, Johnnie Ruth Reynolds of El Cajon; sister and brother-in-law, Donaleen and Denton Shell of Imperial; daughter, Linda Baker Wright and grandson, Erick Sullivan all of Imperial; granddaughter, Tiffany Sullivan Gurka; great-grandson, Darien Gurka III of Tucson; son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Cindy Baker; grandsons, Chris Imhof of San Diego, Joey Baker of El Centro and granddaughters, Tiana, Shelby and Austyn Baker all of El Centro; son and daughter-in-law, Loyal and Kim Baker; grandsons, Brad, Cory and Steven Baker all of Tucson, AZ and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
