Danny Eckard, 46, of Brawley, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013 surrounded by his loved ones.
Danny was born in Brawley, CA and lived all his life in the valley. He was a truck driver by trade. Danny enjoyed deep sea fishing and fishing in canals. He was always so happy when he out fished his dad and bragged to everybody that he caught the bigger fish. Danny also enjoyed spending time in the desert with family and friends, riding his 3 Wheeler, and dove hunting. He had an amazing sense of humor and when he would tell stories of his many adventures, you couldn't help but laugh at the vivid pictures he would describe. He was always willing to lend a hand when asked. He will be greatly missed.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Larry W. Eckard; grandparents, Bert and Mary Gibson and Bea Stewart.
Danny is survived by his mother and stepdad, Judy and Jim Sancineto of Brawley; daughter, Andrea (Nick) Himes; sisters, Tricia (J.R. Hatfield) of El Centro and Deanne (Louis Curiel) Dotson of Arizona; aunts, Beverly (Bill) Senter, of Washington and Barbara (Dr. Jose Rocamora) of Imperial; grandchildren, Nash and Ivy Lynn Himes of Texas; niece and nephew, Alexandra and Darrick Dotson of Arizona; cousins, Matt (Allison) Malcomb, Josh (Sara) Malcomb of Brawley, Jeff Malcomb of San Diego, Dr. Shaun (Jennifer) Senter of Arkansas, Tami (Bill) Richardson of Bakersfield, Tiffany (Chris) Thorson of Washington and numerous cousins, loved ones and friends.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Frye Chapel Mortuary in Brawley and will be officiated by Vince Brooke and Jimmy Whitehead.
Internment will be private.

I will light a candle at 7 p.m. tonight in honor of your young life Danny my brother. You were much too young to go now. The candle I light will burn all night and I will prey for you many times through this night and will ask our lord and savior to receive your good hearted soul. I have realized in this life that their are good people and bad people. Without a doubt Danny you were and are a beautiful soul. Out of theses 31 years that i've known you, not once have I seen you raise your voice in anger or bad mouth another person. This is a man, a true gentlemen that has departed our lives here on earth. Thank you Dan for showing me that and embeding that emotion, that feeling in my heart. That there are truely men out there that are not monsters, that are not envyous of other men. Your kind heart, your kind mannerism will truely be missed in this cruel world we live in. Through the years since Danny was a young boy I would fondly remember him and his sidekick Joey as they would stop by, ring my doorbell to deliver my newspaper. They were always welcome and were met with snacks as to continue their route. You will be remembered by all whom you touched on this earth. Danny...we shared some rare moments that brothers and sisters don't usually share. I will never forget the fun times we had together or the trouble we got into because of it! Danny was truly one of a kind. He had a great sense of humor and an infectious smile and laugh. He was one of the most generous people I've ever known.
It never mattered how much time passed since we'd last seen each other , we could always pick up as if only a day had gone by.
I am consoled only by the countless memories of a great friend and times we shared.
My deepest condolences to the Family he loved so very much. Gone too soon! Love you Danny! RIP my friend.
