DANIEL LEE VANCE

Jan. 9, 1953 – July 31, 2024

Daniel Lee Vance passed away peacefully with his wife and faithful companion "Griffin" by his side on July 31, 2024, in Sycamore, Illinois.

A brilliant scientist and 3 time patented Inventor, Danny lost his life due to the steady physical and mental decline of Alzheimer's Dementia.

Danny was born on January 9, 1953, in San Francisco and as a child, he and his family spent time in Yuma, Colorado, at his grandparents ranch, where he learned how to ride a horse, care for farm animals, and became a Boy Scout with his Eagle Scout brother, Carl.

The family moved to El Centro in the early 60's and Danny attended Wilson Jr. High, where he became a "Red Jacket" honor roll student.

As a Central Union High School freshman, Danny played the baritone in the "Great Spartan Band" and was a wrestler and as a sophomore he decided to play football for the Spartans under coach Cal Jones. Danny was very proud to be part of the C.U.H.S. class of '71 and attended the reunions.

After graduating from Central, he attended and graduated from Imperial Valley College and San Diego State University, earning science degrees.

Danny was a "rolling stone." Traveling and working in many cities, even spending time in Denmark permoting His inventions.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Marguerite and Fred Vance; grandparents, Oscar and Mary Strom; grandparents, Robert Vance (101 years) Olive Vance; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Marcia Vance; and sister, Nancy Vance.

Survivors include wife, Stephanie Vance from Sycamore, Illinois; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Derek Chambless; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Lynette Vance of Jacksonville, North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Danny will be dearly missed by C.U.H.S classmates, his friends, family, and loved ones.
