DAVID PACHECO Obituary

DAVID E. PACHECO SR

Jan. 22, 1948 – Jan. 6, 2025

With profound sadness, we share the unexpected passing of our dear David E. Pacheco Sr., who peacefully entered eternal rest on January 6, 2025, at the age of 76. As a loving husband, father, tata, and friend, David's life was a testament to love, loyalty, and kindness. He will forever be remembered for the joy he brought to those around him.

David was born on January 22, 1948, in Calexico, CA, and graduated from Calexico High School in 1966. He was later drafted into the Army and served in Vietnam, where his courageous service earned him the Bronze Star Medal for Heroism and the Purple Heart Medal. After his military service, David returned to Calexico and devoted himself to serving his community as a mail carrier for the City of Calexico, retiring in 2003 after 32 years of dedicated service.

In 1969, David met Beatrice "Bebe" Valladolid, and they married soon after, in 1971, beginning a lifelong adventure together. They were married for 52 wonderful years. As parents, David and Bebe devoted themselves to raising their three sons, David Jr., Donnie, and Daniel. Their bond as a family was a testament to the love they shared.

For many years, David could be found at IV Bowl, Roadhouse Lanes, or El Centro Lanes, where he bowled alongside Bebe and the boys, creating cherished memories. His devotion to both family and community was evident in everything he did, including serving as President of the El Centro Little League, cooking at the American Legion Post 25, and being an active member of the 20/30 Club.

David was a jack-of-all-trades. Skilled in plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry, he often used these talents to help family and friends. Whether assisting a neighbor with plumbing or lending a hand with home repairs, his knowledge and willingness to help never went unnoticed.

David is survived by his loving wife, Bebe, and their three sons: David Jr. (Addi), Donnie (Jessica), and Daniel, whose love and support were constants throughout his life. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Angel, Isabella, Donnie Jr., Julian, Andrew, Nyssa, Alyssa, Claryssa, Elijah, Isaiah, and Jennicah each of whom brought him immense joy. David is also survived by his sisters, Ernestina "Nini" Zamarripa, Carmen "Uchi" Encinas, and Isabel "Chavela" Capatillo, as well as his brothers, Benny Meza and John Cervantes.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Theresa Cervantes, and his brother, Angel Cervantes. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Raul, Maria, Danny, and Larry Valladolid, as well as nephews, Danny Jr. and Anthony Valladolid.

David will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on February 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe in El Centro, followed by a procession to Evergreen Cemetery, where military honors will be held in his memory. A reception will take place immediately afterward at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Imperial.
