Deryl Glenn Walker was born on August 19, 1957, in Wichita Kansas to the union of Luvert and Doretta Walker.
At an early age Deryl's family moved to Brawley, California where he received his formal education. Deryl attended Brawley schools.
Deryl spent his childhood years playing Little League Baseball, Football, and the Punt Pass and Kick competition. Deryl graduated from Brawley Union High School in 1976, where he also participated playing football, basketball, and track.
Deryl was preceded in death by his father, Luvert Walker, and his mother, Doretta Walker.
Deryl is survived by his brothers, Junior Walker (Alma) and Stanley Walker (Diane); sisters, Angie Dees (Dwain), and Sharon Walker (Will); lovely and faithful companion, Fannie Tucker-Griffin; children, Portia Walker, Brandon Walker (Danielle), Tiara Gutierrez (Camillo), and Andre Walker; a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 6-9 p.m. at Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Brawley, CA. Church services will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 10 a.m. at New Mount Olive Baptist Church, at 1321 J Street, Brawley, CA 92227. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery immediately following the service.

Whenever I saw Deryl he always greeted me with an enthusiastic smile. The same smile when we ran track and field together at BUHS.

Sad to hear this, Daryl was a longtime friend, The last time I saw him was 20 years ago in Tonapah Nevada. I went to get Chinese food and theres Daryl wanting to know what Im doing there. We had a good laugh.

Luvert and Doretta loved their children so much. I know working with Doretta her main topic of conversation was about her kids. I am so sorry for your loss, what a wonderful family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. so many good memories. I love you all.
