ENOS ELONZO
CLAYTON
Jan. 3, 1931 - Dec. 31, 2013
Enos Elonzo Clayton left this life peacefully on December 31, 2013 after a brief courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 3, 1931 in Byers, TX to Boyd and Viola Clayton. He moved with his family to Brawley when he was 6 years old. He attended Brawley Union High School class of 1949 where he was active in all sports. After High School he worked for AAA Water and Holly Sugar before entering the Navy, after serving his country during the Korean War he returned to Brawley to work at La Bolsa Tile before opening his own company Clayton's Drain Tile Maintenance Inc. in 1972 which he ran until retiring in 1994, when he turned over the reins to his children. In January 1980 he married the love of his life, Patricia (Moore) Clayton who preceded him in death in May 2009. For a few years Enos and Patti resided in San Diego but his home was always Brawley.
Enos was preceded in death by his mother, father and his wife as well as his brother, Calvin "Shorty" Clayton.
Enos is survived by daughters, Brenda (Carmine) Salvatore and Nicki (Danny) Eugenio, sons, Danny (Janet) Clayton, Mark (Lydia) Clayton and step-son Gary Moore; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 nephew and 2 nieces.
Graveside services will be held at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley on Saturday, January 11 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest making a donation in memory of Enos to Riverview Cemetery. He was very interested in the beautification of Brawley's cemetery. Enos was a simple man with many loves: he loved a fast horse, a close game, a winning wager, to dance with his love Patti, time to sit with friends and family while enjoying a few cold beers or a nice glass of wine, a very rare steak, a good belly laugh, his country especially the Imperial Valley namely his hometown Brawley, the success of his children and grandchildren whom he loved most of all and of course, to always be right!! He will be missed more than words can say!

So sorry for the loss of a wonderful man. As a child I always considered him as my second dad. It was Mr. Clayton who taught me to eat a good rare steak at the South Gate restaurant. I have so many wonderful memories of the Clayton family. My deepest condolences .
