I remember Dr. Blessed as the principle at McCabe. Standing outside everyday to greet all the students, wearing his hat. Rest in peace Dr Blek.

My deepest condolences for your loss. Dr Blek was my Principal at Wilson Jr High in El Centro. He was a joy to work for,and deeply cared about student academic success , always leading our faculty with respect and humor. I am so sorry for your loss. I had been gone from the Imperial Valley for many years, and often wondered where Dr Blek had gone. I wish I could have seen him before his passing,as I saw him as a friend , an exemplary educator and human being. May he rest in peace.

I will always remember with fondness, Wilson, Junior High school and Dr. Blek guiding students to or from classes with his bull horn. He always had time for a quick comment, observation or clever rejoinder to a student joke. The epitome of a man who enjoyed being in education. I recall my mom taking a speech class from Dr. Blek and thoroughly enjoyed it; made me wish I could have taken on of his courses. A great man, who influenced a lifetime of youth at a time when we needed a solid roll model.

I was lucky to know him as my friend“s dad when I was very young. Luckier still to have had him as our principal at Wilson. His love of family, sports, and his yellow Porsche were always evident. Mrs. Blek, Alicia, Scott, & Craig- I am sorry for your loss. Thank you for having shared him with several communities and those of us who were lucky to have been influenced by his leadership. Mr. Blek..."Thank you very much. Have a pleasant day. Get a hundred!"
