Harold Brandt Obituary

1934 - 2015
Services to celebrate
the life of Harold H.
Brandt Jr. will be held at
the First Presbyterian
Church of Brawley on
Saturday, October 10,
2015 at 10:30 am. Services
will be conducted by
Pastor Jim Pazan and
Tyler Brandt. Harold was 80 years
old. He was born to
Grace and Harold H.
Brandt Sr. in 1934. Har-
old was a farmer. He be-
gan farming with his fa-
ther and Uncle Leon
Brandt and later farmed
on his own in the North
End of the Imperial Val-
ley. In addition to farming
Hal enjoyed riding and
volunteering with the
Imperial County Sheriff
Posse, serving in the
Brawley Rotary Club and
helping with the Brawley
Boys and Girls Club. Harold also enjoyed
flying his Cessna 210 with
his family and his friends
to many fun filled desti-
nations. Harold met Susan
(Pearce) Brandt in 1954 at
the University of Arizona
and they were married on
August 4, 1956 in Tucson,
AZ. Harold and Susan
moved to Sacramento,
CA. where Hal served
during the Korean Con-
flict as Veteran Food In-
spector for two and a half
years. Susan taught
school during this time. Harold and Sue were
blessed and welcomed
their three children;
Tamis Brandt Bryson,
Ned August Brandt and
Tyler Lloyd Brandt. In addition to his wife
Susan, their three chil-
dren, he is survived by
nine grandchildren. Ned
and Micaela (Martino)
Brandt were blessed with
triplets, Alexis, Brittney,
Caitlin and followed by
Emily Brandt. Tyler and
Jennifer (Scotto) Brandt
were blessed with
Ashlynn and Carson
Brandt. Tamis and Joe
Bryson were blessed with
Aubrey, Grace and Cole
Bryson. Along with his immedi-
ate family he is survived
by his sister Janet Brandt
Elmore of Brawley, Ca. Throughout his years in
the Community of Braw-
ley, Hal involved himself
in many volunteer activi-
ties. Hal was very active
in the First Presbyterian
Church. He served in
many leadership rolls
throughout the years and
was very dedicated in
making sure the Church
grounds were always
properly maintained. In
1982 Hal and Richard
Kershaw helped the Pres-
byterian Church organize
its 1st Annual Tri-Tip
dinner which is still an
annual event today. The family suggests
memorials be sent to the
First Presbyterian
Church of Brawley or a
charity of their choice.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. We are finding such a sprit filled peace knowing dad has entered into the joy of his Salvation. We are celebrating he is not dead but very Alive with his blessed Savior, Jesus Christ. Though we are temporarily separated now, we rejoice in the understanding, we will see him again on that joyous and glorious day!!

So sorry to read of Hal's passing. I met him when I came to work in Brawley in 1982.Although I havent seen him in the past few years I will always remember his big smile and wit. Just one of those people who would brighten your day. I know he will be missed by all of his friends and family.
