Irene Hernandez Jaramillo, 46, of Denver, CO passed away after a long illness.
Irene was born and raised in Calexico and attended schools there. While in high school she became the freshman Homecoming Princess, was a member of the Cadet Drill Team and was a mechanic student. Irene loved to cook and sing.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ruben M. Hernandez; sister, Gloria "Lalie" H. Olague; nephews, Marcelino Jr. H. Nava Esparza and Michael H. Olague.
Irene is survived by her husband, Mike Jaramillo of Denver, CO; mother, Mary Helen N. Hernandez of Calexico; daughters, Tereasa and Elizabeth Fierro of Indio; son, Albert Salcido of Orange, CA; daughter, Melissa Banachie of Calexico; 7 grandchildren; sisters, Dora H. Nava Esparza of Heber, Lucy H. Camacho of San Bernardino, Alise H. Schwebs of Orange and Mary Helen N. Hernandez of Calexico; brothers, Ruben N. Hernandez of Calexico, Eddie N. Hernandez of El Centro and Joey N. Hernandez of Calexico and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place Thursday, March 13 for 6 to 9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in Calexico. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will commence at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico on Friday, March 14 with burial immediately following at Mountain View Cemetery, also in Calexico.
The family suggests donations be sent to Hems Brothers Mortuary in Calexico.

Hey "Boo Boo", I'll remember you always being there for me when I went to HS in Calecia. "Puppet" May Gods light and love shine upon you and your family at this time and always. My deepest sympathy to all.

MARY HELEN, I REMEMBER IRENE AS A QUIET GIRL. SO PETITE AND CUTE THE LAST TIME I SAW HER, WHICH WAS .......I BELIEVE SHE WAS 17. GIVE YOUR MOM, AND LUCY A BIG HUG FOR ME......EVEN IF THEY DON'T REMEMBER ME. I REMEMBER ALL OF YOU.
