JAIME GARCIA OBESO
Jan. 25, 1958 - June 7, 2011
Jaime Garcia Obeso, 53, of Imperial, passed away June 7, 2011 while working for Caltrans. Jaime Garcia Obeso was born to Gregorio and Magdalena Obeso January 25, 1958 in El Centro, California. He attended Ben Hulse Elementary, Frank Wright Junior High, and Imperial High School. While at Imperial High he excelled in football and track, holding records in pole vault, and 4x100 relay. Jaime grew up in the city of Imperial gaining many friends throughout his life. Jaime married Maria Elena Sanchez September 1, 1978, his sweetheart since the 6th grade when they met. Jaime and Maria Elena were best friends and the loves of each other lives. They were happily married 32 years this year.
Jaime worked for H.E. Wiggins and Sons for many years and later gained employment with the State of California Department of Caltrans, where he was currently employed. Jaime was known as a hard working employee who had received many awards during his service. His last promotion was as a lead worker.
Jaime's hobbies included working on air conditioners, his new jeep, fishing, finding a deal at the swap meet, browsing Ebay for the latest deal, and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Jaime was well known in the community as being a hard worker, always there to help his friends and family. Jaime had a great sense of humor, joking and always teasing friends and family. Jaime loved his family and grandkids very much. He will be remembered for making breakfast for his grandbabies every Sunday morning and for being quick to aid his friends and family whenever they needed him.
Even though he is not with us he will be watching over us every day and will always be remembered in our memories and our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gregorio Daniel Obeso.
Jaime is survived by the love of his life of 32 years, Maria Elena Sanchez Obeso of Imperial, CA; daughter, Ida Obeso; son Jaime Obeso Jr. and wife, Priscilla Escalanti Obeso; grandchildren, Gianna Alyssa Navarro, Ricardo "Richie"Antonio Navarro, Jaime Gregorio Obeso, Nicholas Edward Navarro, Audrina Kyana Obeso, and to be born in August, Julian Albert Obeso; mother, Magdalena Obeso, brother and sisters, David Obeso, Arturo Obeso, Carmen Obeso-Garcia, Daniel Obeso, and Gloria Obeso-Levy; sisters-in- laws, brothers-in-law, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley.
Funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. at the Casa De Manana Building at the I.V. Fairgrounds in Imperial, CA on Friday, June 17 with Pastor Albert Sanchez officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.

Dear Maria Elena and Obeso Family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy. We'll always remember Jaime's kindness. This was especially apparent when our son Chance broke his wrist severely during IHS football practice, and Jaime drove him to the hospital. He waited with Chance and took care of him until we got there.Even though this happened over 10 years ago, we have never forgotten his kindness and caring manner. We will miss his warm smile.
