JAMES VALENZUELA Obituary


James Valenzuela, 69, of El Centro passed away on February 24, 2017 in his home. He was born January 26, 1948 in Bakersfield, CA to Albert and Alice Valenzuela. In 1962 his family moved to El Centro, CA when Jimmy was 14 years old. Jimmy attended Central Union High School. He married in July 1965 to Deattria Dunn. Where they raised 4 children and were blessed with 8 grandchildren. Jimmy was a local business owner for many years in El Centro. He retired from Central Union High School as a Truancy Officer. Jimmy usually started off his day at Jr's for coffee with the boys. His last days were at home with Deattria and grandson and two dogs Paris and Missy. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Deattria Valenzuela of El Centro; children, Cyrene Valenzuela of El Centro, James Valenzuela of El Centro, Michelle Bratton (Monte) of Austin, TX and Melissa Castillo (Ismael) of El Centro; 8 grandchildren, Anthony Valenzuela, Fischer Bratton, Blaise Bratton, Ariana Valenzuela, Logan Valenzuela, Kaleb Castillo, Aubree Castillo and Shiaya Castillo; brother, Charles Albert (Barbara) Valenzuela nieces, Donna and Nancy; sister, Debra Gonzales and family. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Albert and Alice Valenzuela. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Jimmy Valenzuela will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Valley Christian Church located at 431 W. Wall Road in Imperial, CA at 11 a.m.
