JOHN LEON Obituary


John Leon, 69, of Brawley, CA passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020. John was born on February 12, 1951 in Brawley, CA. He married Rita Ybarra Leon on November 16, 1968 in Brawley, CA. He was in the US Army and shortly after had numerous jobs throughout Imperial Valley. He was preceded in death by wife, Rita Leon; parents, Diega and Sotelo Leon; sisters, Isabel Morales, Dolores Garcia, Genevieve Aguilera, Mary Helen Guillen, Lorenza Leon; brothers, Joe Leon, Salvador Leon and Arnold Leon. He is survived by his daughter Rachel Michelle (Arnold) Ruiz; 2 grandchildren, Rita and Ryan Ruiz; 2 great-grandchildren, Ayden Nunez and Sebastian Ruiz; sisters, Rosa Sandoval and Eleanor Salgado; brother, Felipe Leon. A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley, CA.

In the time that I knew Juan, I always thought he was a very sweet and kind person, always willing to help out or ready with a positive thing to say or joke to make you laugh. I'm very saddened to hear of his passing. My condolences to his loved ones. I know he will be greatly missed by all.
