JORGE C. VELARDE

Jorge C. Velarde, 68, of El Centro, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 of a heart attack at Brawley Pioneers Memorial Hospital.
Jorge Velarde was born October 23, 1944 in Mexicali B.C., Mexico and was married to Maria Ofelia Velarde on June 14, 1970 in Mexicali B.C., Mexico. He worked in agricultural for 24 years and had a lawn mowing business for 38 years.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Ofelia Velarde of El Centro; son, George (Erica) Velarde of Canyon Country; grandsons, Jacob and Jayson Velarde of Canyon Country; brother, Humberto Velarde; sisters, Sara Velarde, Ofelia Velarde and Rosario Velarde.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro with rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Service will be held on March 13, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in El Centro and will be officiated by F. Ruben Valenzuela. Burial will immediately follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Calexico.
