On September 9, 2022, our beloved mother, Lucy Vega Garcia, passed away peacefully with family by her side. She was born on January 7, 1926 to Felipe and Ursula Vega in Calexico, CA. She married Honorio A. Garcia on August 30, 1943 in Yuma, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felipe and Ursula Vega; her husband, Honorio A. Garcia; infant son, Robert Garcia; grandson, Rudy Garcia, Jr; infant great-grandson, Wyatt Prince; great-grandson, Joseph Frank Garcia; brothers, Leonard Vega, Felipe Vega, Jr, Suzano Vega; sisters, Dolores Favela and Eloisa Garcia.
Lucy is survived by her sister, Josie Alva (Luis) of Rowland Heights, CA; sons, Honorio Garcia, Jr (Mercy) of El Centro, CA and Rudy Garcia (Mary) of Temecula, CA; daughters, Rosie Alcaraz (Rudy) of Selma, CA and Florence Servin of Woodbridge, VA; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.
Mass will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in El Centro, with Deacon Domingo Enriquez officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
