Macario R. Lira III of Brawley, CA was born on April 23, 1964 to Macario H. Lira Jr. and Virginia Rodriguez Lira in El Centro, CA. He gained his angel wings on July 26, 2022 at San Diego hospital.

Mr. Lira was a veteran from the US Army and Army Reserved and received many medals. He served a year in Iraq from 2006-2007. Mr. Lira also worked for Spreckels Sugar Company for two decades and enjoyed working with the staff. Although Mr. Lira was never married, he loved the family time he was able to have. He enjoyed watching Sci-fi movies such as Star Wars, Star Trek, and documentaries about U.F.O's. Macario's favorite food was always Chinese food, especially from China Inn, Celia's restaurant, and Nana Doras. His favorite genres of music were country, pop, and oldies. Mr. Lira's life was definitely a life to be celebrated and had a presence cherished by many.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Rodriguez; brother, Gilbert Allen Lira; nephew, Ernesto A. Sanchez III; grandfather, Macario C. Lira Sr., grandmother, Josephina H. Lira; grandfather, Jose C. Rodriguez; grandmother, Virginia C. Rodriguez; and many uncles and aunts.

Macario is survived by his father, Macario H. Lira Jr.; sister, Sylvia Lira Carrillo; brother-in-law, Alex Carrillo; sister, Yolanda Ann Ramos; 7 nephews; 9 nieces; and 33 great nephews and nieces.

Visitation is Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Frye Chapel in Brawley, CA from 6-9 p.m. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Mass will be Friday, August 19, 2022 at Saint Margret Mary's church Brawley, CA at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley, CA.
