MARIA PASCUA Obituary

PASCUA

May 20, 1927 – Mar. 23, 2025

Maria De Jesus Chavez Pascua, 97, of Holtville, CA, born on May 20, 1927, in Bisbee, AZ, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, at Brawley Pioneers Memorial Hospital surrounded by her beloved family. On October 18, 1943, in Lordburg, NM Maria married the love of her life, Juan Pascua from La Union, Philippine Islands, Sur Ilocano, bearing 13 children together, and lived a life of deep faith, devotion, and love. As a dedicated servant of Jehovah, baptized in June 1963 at the International Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses in Pasadena, she found great joy in sharing her faith and encouraging those around her. Her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering trust in God impacted all who knew her. She was a source of strength, a compassionate listener, and a guiding light to those around her. Her children lovingly remember her: Silverio (Judy) Pascua, Dorotheo (Brenda) Pascua, Martha (Jose) Damaso, Marcella (Danny) Estes, Elizabeth (James) Rissell, Esther (Gilbert) Aguirre, Rosaline (Mark) Hofbauer, and Jacob (Angela) Pascua; brother, Martin Chavez; and a legacy of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family who were blessed by her presence. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to her grandchildren, Stephanie, Gloria, Domina, Enrique Estrada (Domina), Naomi, Max, Sam, Sarina, Adriel, and JT for the comfort, love, and care they provided during Maria's final years. And her son, Jacob, and daughter-in-law, Angela, and her grandchildren, Sam, Stephanie, Gloria, Lorenzo Llamas, and Ramon Llamas during her final moment.

Their presence brought peace and joy to her life. She was reunited in death with her beloved husband, Juan Pascua; sons, John Pascua Jr., Daniel, and Richard; daughters, Salem and Diana; parents, Francisco and Rosaura Romero Reprieto Chavez; siblings, Francisco Jr., Angel Chavez, Nelly Gonzalez, and Carmen Marcelino; and her dear aunt, Narcissa Tumbaga.

Our peace is knowing the promise of seeing her again in Jehovah's paradise. The family is grateful to all who have shown love, prayers, and support during this time. Maria's legacy of faith, love, and generosity will forever remain in our hearts. Additional comments refer to Frye's obituary.

I met Maria when my family first moved to the valley. I personally knew many of her earlier children, even employing them. She was a very loving and quiet person. I too, look forward to seeing her again in the resurrection.
