Marilyn passed away on May 28, 2015 in Portland, Oregon.
She was born in Brawley to Slim and Teleta Woods. She attended Westmorland Elementary School and graduated from B.U.H.S. Class of 1957. She live most of her adult life in Gainesville, Texas. She relocated to Portland about 14 years ago. In Texas she worked for Weber Factory and then in Home Health. In Portland she worked in Health care until her own health declined.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Rhonda.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Darren (Lisa) Taylor of Texas, Derrick Taylor of Oklahoma, Damon (Mrinda) Taylor of Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Margarety (Richard) Lowrie; 2 nephews, 1 aunt and several cousins.
She enjoyed writing poetry and doing readings at the assisted living facility where she resided. In 2006. She was pleased to compile many of her poems into a book to share with family and friends. She loved going to eat with the Red Hat ladies. She had a kind and loving spirit and was very proud of all her family. A special thanks to cousin Karen Bissell for all her help these last year.
At her request, there will be no services.
