RICARDO VILLA Obituary

RICARDO VALLES

VILLA

Jan. 14, 1938 July 10, 2023

Ricardo Valles Villa was born on January 14, 1938, to parents Elisa and Raymundo Villa. He passed away peacefully in his home in El Centro, California, on the evening of July 10, 2023, at the age of 85.

Ricardo was born in Anaheim, California. He lived in various cities, including Anaheim, Mexicali, Mexico, and El Centro, for over 50 years. He worked in the food and agricultural industry throughout his life. Married on July 16, 1956, in Yuma, Arizona, with Martha Figueroa Villa, they raised a family of five: Ricardo, Marisela, Ramon, Sergio, and Jose. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; son, Ricardo; and daughter, Marisela. He is survived by his children, Ramon, Sergio, and Jose; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; along with his siblings, Rodolfo, Juana, Elena, and Victor.

He was the glue of the family. He left a great example of how to be a good husband and father. He offered words of encouragement and would tell everyone to trust in God through the midst of their trials. He had a gift for making up rhymes and songs on the spot. He loved to joke around to lighten up the day.

A pastor of over 30 years for the Iglesia de La Promesa (a non-profit home mission). Mr. Villa's favorite bible verse was Philippians 1:21 "for to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." His favorite songs were "El Alfarero," "Las Cien Ovejas," and "Un Dia a la Vez."

Viewing will be held on August 3, 2023, at 5 pm at Garden of Eden. Celebration of life will be hosted on August 4, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at New Destiny Church.

Hrno. Villa was a good example of a true Christian. I have memories of when I was a little girl he would go with my Dad door to door inviting people to church. He would share the gospel with such excitement. Our families would get together almost every Sunday and sometimes during the week and have tamales or menudo etc. Lots of good memories. May He rest in peace. We extend our condolences to the family. May God bless you and give you comfort during this difficult time.

I could write a book (long story short) When I was born in (1970) Dr had declared I was not going to live and I was to die (Anytime soon) My Tio Ricardo prayed a simple prayer to God, to spare my life and God miraculously gave me life(My mom before passing often would share this testimony to me and many others) I can still remember several coritos my tio taught me when I was a child, they were short but very meaningful this one was connected to the end of this corito:"como Jeremias Oraba y lloraba"the words have helped me in many difficult occasions it says,// guiado con su espiritu no puedes caer //el es el paracleto Que a mi lado va guiandome por sendas de justicia y Paz My Tio has always and will always have a special place in my heart till we meet again
