Rosalia Sillas Romero slipped into the gentle arms of God on August 3, 2025, after a battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was 68 years old.
Rosalia was born on September 4, 1956, in Rosamorada, Mexico. She grew up in Mexicali and Calexico and attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Academy and Vincent Memorial High School, where she made lifelong friends. After graduation, she worked for Quimica Organica in Mexicali, where she met the love of her life, Reyes. The couple married in 1986 and soon relocated to the Imperial Valley, where Rosalia worked as an office administrator for Sober Roads in El Centro and later as a receptionist at Imperial Unified School District. She was a loving mother, loyal friend, and longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Church in El Centro. She was known for her kindness, patience, and positivity at work and in life, never hesitating to help a colleague, friend, or family member.
In her later years and retirement, Rosalia focused on spending time with family and friends and on travelling to visit her grandchildren. She also made international trips to Germany and India. She enjoyed Sunday conversations at Celia's with the Breakfast Club Ana and Jeff and dinner at Fortune House with her prayer group. She loved gardening and was an avid fan of HGTV and British mysteries. After dinner, she prayed the Rosary nightly.
She is survived by her husband, Reyes; daughters, Rosalia and Daniela; granddaughters, Cecilia and Tanvi; sisters, Lucila, Andrea, Alicia, Reyes, and Maria Felix; brothers, Teodolo and Martin; and extended family, Antonia, Jesus, Thalia, Juan Jose and Franzinia.
The viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro, with the Rosary starting at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in El Centro, followed by the burial at Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Rosalia was an incredible women. We met through Daniella at a mom center. She would bring Tanvi and play with her and even play with my son. She had such a beautiful aura about her. You could feel all the care love and compassion she had just being in her presence. She always was smiling. Loved to talk about her family. Loved to take care of her family even moved across the country to be there for her daughter and granddaughter. She was so involved and loved to be. We are so blessed to have crossed paths with her. We miss her and will always hold the beautiful memories of her with us. This news is heartbreaking. But she´s in peace and will still be looking out for her loved ones. Xo

I only met her once during Daniela´s wedding with my brother. She was a full of life person with always a smiling face. She was a very kind soul indeed. Every person who interacted or touched her life is lucky to have met her. I have never met such a selfless human being. May her soul rest in peace.
