ROSARIO "CHAYO" OTERO RODRIGUEZ

Rosario Rodriguez, 73, of Westmorland passed away April 10, 2014 at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 25, 1940 in Lluvia de Oro, Chihuahua, Mexico. Rosario immigrated from Mexico in 1958, the same year she met her future husband, to whom she was married for 51 years. She worked in the agricultural field for over 40 years throughout California, enjoyed spending time with family, barbeques and holidays, and vacationing in Ensenada.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Eloisa; brother, Heraclio Otero; mother, Rosario Otero; sister, Yolanda Rodriguez; brother, Lorenzo Otero; and sister, Luz Silva.
Rosario is survived by her husband, Sammy M. Rodriguez; son, Anthony O. Rodriguez; daughter- in-law Mari; grandchildren, Karina, Sammy, Karissa and Karolina; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Karyn, Karisma and Kristopher (Dominic), all from Westmorland; father, Rosario Otero of Brawley; brothers, Luis Otero of Escalon, CA, Ernesto Otero of Westmorland, Richard Otero of Riverside, CA, and Dr. Fernando Otero of Walnut Creek, CA; and sisters, Jesse Garza of McAllen, TX and Lilly Oliva of Avenal, CA; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley with rosary at 7 p.m.
Mass will commence at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 25 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley immediately following mass.
