Bryan Bush Obituary

Mr. Bryan Wilson Bush, age 55, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025. Bryan was born on Monday, October 20, 1969, in Griffin, Georgia to Wilson and Gail Bush. Bryan graduated from Jackson High School in 1988. Upon graduation, he attended Georgia Southern University where he was the president of the TKE Fraternity and met the love of his life, Jennifer, before earning his undergraduate degree in 1992. He received his master's degree from the University of Florida in finance and real estate in 1994. Bryan worked for Henry County Tax Assessors for 10 years, owned and operated Bush Appraisal Service, and was a broker for both Commercial Assets Group and Century 21 Crowe Realty. He was also an in-house appraiser for BB&T Bank for over a decade and most recently the chief appraiser and senior vice president of appraisals at Colony Bank. As a lifelong member of Jackson United Methodist Church, Bryan was Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mission Trip Leader, Worship Leader for over a decade and served in numerous other leadership roles. He was the Chairman of the Board for Piedmont Academy for several years, past Chairman of the Butts County Development Authority, and former President of the Harbour Shores Homeowners Association. Bryan served as a coach for Butts County Recreational Sports for 10 years and served as coach for his oldest son's Travel Ball Team. In his spare time, he loved gardening, doing yard work, reading, fishing, and playing golf, however, his favorite past time was and will always be cheering for the Florida Gators! Bryan is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jennifer Bush; sons, Brett and Brody Bush; parents, Wilson and Gail Bush; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jennifer and Kent Grogan of Camilla, Georgia; sister-in-law, Amy Grogan of Bradenton, Florida; brother-in-law, Hayes Grogan of Opelika, Alabama; nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A Memorial Service will be held in the sanctuary of Jackson United Methodist Church on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. with Pastors Owen Skinner and Chris Shurtz officiating. Mrs. Bush and their sons will receive family and friends from 11:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. in the Fellowship Hall prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Butts and Jasper County Animal Services via either Butts Mutts and Klassy Kats, www.buttsmutts.com or www.klassykatsofbc.com, or to the Jasper County Humane Society Whisker Warriors, www.jaspercohumanesociety.org. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfuneralhome.com. Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home, 212 E. College Street, Jackson, GA, is serving the Bush family.
