I just today learned of Billy's death through a mutual friend. We have known each other since 1954, when I showed up at Union University. If all men and women who are connected with athletics were of the same caliber as Billy, we would need no officials, directors or even rule books. He was one of a kind and we'll all miss him. Deepest sympathy and condolences to his family, which I never had the privilege of knowing.

My sincerest sympathies to the Scrivner family. You, as well as many of us were truly blessed to have known Billy and had him in our lives. I coached in West Tn. and Jackson for 17 years and that is how I met this fine man. He brightened everyone's day and was such a joy to be around. I moved to Arkansas 5 years ago and still coach football. I have thought back to what a great job he did in teaching and supervising the officials that worked so many of our games. We very rarely get crews as knowledgeable and as good as those Billy worked with. I miss that and am so glad I coached in an area where some of the best football officiating ever, took place. God bless you all. We will pray for your comfort.

Margie,
What a beautiful memorial for a wonderful man. There was so much love in the room! I can only hope to amount to a fraction of what your husband attained. God Bless You! Mary Wanat

My association with Billy began in the 1950's. He officiated my basketball games and took care of my basketball floor. All was done in a professional manner with a smile on his face. We continued to work together after I went with TSSAA. He was a great friend and perfect gentleman. His contributions
to sports in Tenness is unmatched. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife ,Margie, and family.

I have known Billy since I was very young. My Dad, Howard Mullins, knew him through playing baseball on the same team and throughout the years as an athletic official. I am just so very sorry for this terrible loss. My sympathy goes out to all of his family. He will definitely be missed.

Some people come into your life and make a mark, others come into your life and make a difference. Billy Schrivner was one of those men who made it difference. What a legacy he is leaving behind and oh what a role model he will always be to us and so many others who respected and loved him.
Our prayers are with all of your family, as is our love!

Mr. Billy and his crew refinished numerous gym floors for schools I coached in. He was always a consumate professional in his business and if something wasn't 'right', Mr. Billy made it right. Now, go rest high on that mountain and reap your just rewards, my friend.

Billy was my first Little League baseball coach in 1952-53. Jackson has lost a true gentleman and a dedicated inspiration to those who knew him.
