Funeral services for Mr. Charlie Henry Walker age 76 will be held Sunday June 5 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Pafford Funeral Home with Roy Herron and Richard Savage officiating. Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery. Mr. Walker a long time Lexington attorney died Thursday June 2 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was born on January 3 1929 at Peter's Landing in Perry County TN one of eight children of George and Nober Walker. He served in the United States Army in Korea the Tennessee National Guard and attained the rank of Captain in the United States Army Reserve. Mr. Walker attended the University of Tennessee at Martin and Cumberland School of Law graduating in 1953 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. He began his law practice in Lexington upon graduating in 1954. His sons continue the practice as Walker Walker and Walker Attorneys. He was a founder and past President of the First Federal Savings and Loan Association now Community National Bank and served on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Savings and Loan League. Mr. Walker had served as the City Attorney of Lexington and was a former Chairman of the Henderson County Election Commission. He was elected for two terms as a Delegate of the Tennessee State Constitutional Convention. Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years Mrs. Louise McPeake Walker of Lexington his daughter Cindy Harber of Jackson; his two sons Ken Walker and Richard Walker both of Lexington; seven grandchildren Benjamin Walker Laura and Caroline Harber Jacob and Catherine Walker Zachary and Christopher Walker and several beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters Jessie Waters Moncie Kilpatrick Golden Halford and Pauline Holder and brothers Jody Walker J. T. Walker and David Walker. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Star Center of Jackson or the First Baptist Church of Lexington. Visitation will be Saturday 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Sunday at Pafford Funeral Home. Pafford Funeral Home 731968-2544
