Dan Shaw Obituary

August 21 1952- October 30 2004 Services for Dr. Dan Shaw Jr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday November 5 2004 in the Chapel of the C-Mac Building at Lane College. Burial will follow at Parkway Memorial Gardens. Dr. Dan Shaw Jr. was born and reared in Fayette County TN. He was the fourth of six children born to the late Dan Shaw Sr. and Katherine Jones Shaw. He is survived by his wife of thirty years Gloria J. Shaw of Jackson TN; three daughters Kecia Levette Shaw Danielle Octavia Neely and ArBoria Kenyatta Shaw-Dansby; a son Rashad Eugene Shaw and three grandchildren Madyson Neely Isaac Neely and Malachi Tate. Dr. Shaw was an educator in many school systems through the southern region of the country. Some of his more recent accomplishments included former Vice President of Student Affairs at Lane College and Executive Director of Starchild Placement Agency. Dr. Shaw was an active menber and current President of Lane College National Alumni Association. He was also a faithful member of Mother Liberty C.M.E. Church. Visitation will begin at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Dr. Shaw will lie in state at the C-Mac building on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time for service. Mercer Brothers Funeral Home Inc. 731-423-4922
