Dorothy Dunn Obituary

Dorothy Dean Dunn 62 slipped gently into eternal rest Saturday February 22 2003 after a lengthy battle with diabetes. Born to Carl and Opal Dunn on November 6 1940 "Dottie Dean" was raised in Trenton and spent most of her life in the area as a Homemaker. She occasionally worked in area factories as a seamstress. She enjoyed many hobbies including gardening sewing quilting and especially doll collecting and restoration. She spent the last 14 months in Houston TX and returned home to Trenton for her final days. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Opal and her husband Jackie C. Miller. She is survived by her loving children: son Harold W. Petty and wife Cory of San Diego CA.; daughter Kimberly J. Justice and husband Robert of Ft. Hood TX.; son James V. Slaughter and wife Cindy of Trenton son Todd W. Slaughter of Houston TX son Christopher D. Slaughter and wife Tammy of Trenton; daughter Amy K. Jenkins of Milan daughter Amanda K. Ashburn of Trenton and step-daughter Vicki L. Flatt of Trenton; 23 grandchildren including "Special Grandson" Jerry C. Petty of San Diego CA.; and 1 great granddaughter She is also survived by her sister Evelyn Carlene Chappelle and husband John of Port St. Lucie FL.; nieces Robbie Dickon Sandy Patterson and Ila Curry and nephews Tommy Davis Jimmy Davis and Jody Davis all of Michigan. The family will receive visitors Monday evening 5-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held Tuesday Feb. 25 at 1:00 p.m. Karnes Sons Funeral Home Dyer TN 731-692-3711
