Funeral services for Mrs. Geneva Russell Odell, age 90, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2014 at Campbell Street Church of Christ, with Minister James Meadows officiating. Burial will be in Nebo Cemetery in Henderson County, with Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Odell passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Luray, TN to the late Henry Thomas Russell and Fannie Mae Maness Russell. She was married to the late William Freeman Odell on May 18, 1946 and celebrated sixty-five years together. Mr. Odell passed away on May 22, 2011. Mrs. Odell was a homemaker and a member of Campbell Street Church of Christ. For 61 years, she lovingly cared for her daughter, Dianne, who was stricken with polio at the age of 3. She was a faithful Christian woman who was known for her compassion and hospitality.

Other than her parents, husband and daughter, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Brant Kirk; seven brothers and seven sisters.

Surviving are her daughters, Donna Lewis and husband Larry, and Mary Beth Beyer and husband Will, all of Jackson; her brother, Wilburn Russell of Lexington; her sister, Christine Tritt of Florida; her grandchildren, Brian Kirk and wife Tiffanie, Sarah Kirk, Chase Beyer and wife Asako, and Chance Beyer and four great-grandchildren, Cade, River, Jadyn and Issac Kirk.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
