Julia Sisson Obituary
Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Julia Rose "Judy" Sisson, age 74, passed away on November 6th, 2013 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be Sunday, November 10th at 2 p.m., in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, with Interment to follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers to serve will be Ryan McClain, Adam McClain, Caleb Wilson, Alan Yancy, Aubrey Richardson and Andrew "Billy" Whittle.
Mrs. Sisson was born on January 13, 1939 in Strayhorn, MS to the late Byrd Starling and Kathleen Latham Billings.
Mrs. Sisson is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bobby R. Sisson; 4 children, Judy McClain of Arlington, TN, Marvin and Rosalie Sisson of Jackson, Jennifer and Alan Yancy of Jackson, and Christopher L. Sisson of Jackson; 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Adam, Holly, Sarah, Caleb and Emilee, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sisson was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Whittle and brother, Byrd "Bud" Billings.
Mrs. Sisson was also considered a mother or a mentor to a multitude of extended family and foster children.
Visitation with the family will be held at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, November 9th from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the excellent and compassionate care received, and friendships acquired while she was a patient at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, (731) 427-5555.

So sorry for your loss. Mrs. Judy was kind to my family when we were neighbors several years ago. I look forward to seeing Mrs. Judy again soon. My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Bobby and the "kids".

To a family that truly inspired me and touched my life you are in my thoughts and prayers. At a time in my life when I needed direction and examples to follow the most Judy and Bobby were there. Bobby,Chris,Judy,Marvin,and Jennifer I am so sorry for your loss "Judy" was the sweetest woman I have ever known full of life, smiles love and compassion for everyone no matter who you were she was there with a happy soft spoken spirit.
