George Sisson Obituary
George was born in Lindale, Georgia, on July 6, 1937, son of the late Ralph Perry Sisson and Lillie A. Holloway Sisson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gladys B. Moon Sisson.
George graduated from Pepperell High School class of 1955. He worked for Inland Inc. Rome, GA, (GA. Kraft) as a crew leader with 42 years of service. George was a member of Oak Hill Church of Christ, Coosa Lodge 622, Seven Hills Daylight Lodge 751, and the Rome Shrine Club. George loved spending time with his family and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by all.
Survivors include his son, Steve Sisson (Kim); daughter, Tammy Carder; grandchildren, Kris, Mallory, Jessica, Michaela, and Madisson; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Sisson (JoAnn), Jimmy Sisson (Faye); sister, Jennille Martin; special friend, Cindy Moore, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 12:00pm until 1:45pm.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 12, 2026, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with Dr. Joe Sisson officiating. A private family interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Children's Hospital of Atlanta, 2220 N. Druid Hills Rd, Atlanta, GA 30329.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, on Thursday at 12:30 pm and include: Michael Carder, John Alexander, Michael Powers, Josh Gresham, Jerry Penney, Keith Rogers; Masonic Brethren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
